NEW IN VERSION 6.9
==================
1. The embedded versions of the Daily Interest Calculator and the
Equivalent Interest Rate calculator are replaced by the newer stand
alone versions. These bonus programs will be installed in the
Mortgage Wizard Plus\DIC sub folder. It is still possible to run
these bonus programs from the File menu in Mortgage Wizard Plus.
2. Dates are now in accordance with the preferred International Date
Format ISO 8601. This format is yyyy-mm-dd.
NEW IN VERSION 6.8
==================
1. Fixed incorrect date display if the Summary Report was opened in
your default browser. The regular Summary Report display was OK.
2. US flag replaced by a Globe. This was done because most countries
around the globe use the same method as used in the US. Some users in
other countries thought showing the US flag was some patriotic thing.
3. Fixed inaccuracy if loans use the highly unlikely semi-monthly
compounding method with Frequency of Payment not semi-monthly.
4. Added the capability to convert a loan with monthly payments to
a loan with accelerated weekly and bi-weekly payments. For more
info on this see How to ... Section of Help
5. Some minor stuff and updated Help.
WHY VERSION 6.7b?
=================
In version 6.7 (and 6.7a) it`was impossible to open the Summary Report
if a loan calculation was based on a annual compounding.
WHY VERSION 6.7a?
=================
Version 6.7a is not an upgrade. The reason for version 6.7a is to fix
2 items of version 6.7. These are:
1. If you opened the Amortization Schedule or Year End Report in your
default browser using version 6.7, the mortgage facts such as Starting
Amount, Start Date, etc. were missing.
2. If you completed the 21 day period for evaluatng Mortgage Wizard
Plus, a "Thank you for evaluating screen will appear". This screen has
a button to go to the order page on the web in case you wish to make
MW-Plus permanent. Unfortunately this button did not work in v6.7.
WHAT's NEW IN VERSION 6.7
=========================
1. Previous versions came with Help in Windows Help format.
Version 6.7 comes with Help in compiled HTML format. (chm file)
2. If the 360 day method is selected, it is now possible to either
add an adjustment to the mortgage amount or pay the adjustment on the
start date if funds are advanced prior to the start date.
3. All reports are made to look better if opened in your default
browser. In addition you can modify the appearance yourself by making
changes to the style sheet mwstyle.css. To do this you need to have
some knowledge about HTML and CSS style sheets. Open mwstyle.css in
Notepad for additional info.
4. It is also possible to use your own banner when opening the reports.
Just include a banner file named mybanner.gif in your Mortgage Wizard
Plus folder.
5. Cosmetic changes were made to the opening/about window. Font sizes
were too big if the window was maximized. Also bitmaps on all windows
are now scaled better if windows are resized.
6. The setup file is created with a newer version (5.06) of Jordan
Russell's setup program. This results in a significantly smaller
setup file. It is again possible to put the setup file on a floppy
for backup purposes.
7. Some minor stuff.
WHAT's NEW IN VERSION 6.6a
==========================
In versions 6.x, if a lumpsum payment is made while the 360 day
mode is selected and the selection is made to have the lumpsum
appear on a separate row in the amortization schedule, interest
is added twice. It is therefore highly recommended to replace a
previous version 6.x. Version 6.6a fixes this bug. Any
amortization schedule created previously can be fixed in Mortgage
Wizard Plus v6.6a by doing the following steps:
a). Open the previously saved amortization schedule.
b). Press Function Key F8 to fix and update the amortization
schedule.
c). Save the file again.
WHAT's NEW IN VERSION 6.6 COMPARED TO VERSION 6.5/6.5a
======================================================
1. Bonus programs
Embedded with Mortgage Wizard Plus are 2 bonus programs. These
new bonus programs are:
a) Daily Interest Calculator
b) Equivalent Interest Rate Calculator
Both programs can be opened from the File Menu
2. Display in Browser
The amortization schedule and calculated results of various
screens can now also be displayed in your default browser. You
can subsequently change text size, print, save and e-mail the
displayed results in *.html format.
3. Background colors of screens and dialog boxes are changed to
make them look better (less noticeable dithering) if the display
is setup for only 256 colors.
WHAT's NEW IN VERSION 6.5/6.5a COMPARED TO VERSION 6.4a
=======================================================
1. File Open and Save dialog boxes are again Windows 95/98 style
when running under Windows XP. They can also be resized.
Versions 6.4a and earlier show the old Windows 3.1 style dialog
boxes when running under Windows XP. A big step backwards.
2. Links from the Help menu to my website did not work when
running under Windows 2000 and XP. The links work again with
v6.5a.
3. It is now possible to select paper orientation and number of
copies on the 'Print options dialog'.
4. Windows 2000 and XP print wider than previous versions.
Another unpleasant surprise. Improvements are made to accomodate
printing with the newer operating systems.
5. Version 6.5 is also recommended for people dealing with
billion dollar mortgages. Such large numbers were previously
displayed as a number of asterix (*********)
To accomodate these large numbers, there are now 4 settings for
spreadsheet column width possible from the Options menu.
6. The word 'Mortgage' on Amortization Schedule screen and
printouts is replaced by 'Loan/Mortgage'.
7. The appearance of MW-Plus dialog boxes is now more XP style.
(Light gray color and 3d seem to be no longer the fashion)
8. Dialog boxes can deal better with possible changes in Windows
font size and DPI (dots per inch) display settings of XP.
9. Some minor changes are made, but a few other things based on
suggestions have to wait until the next upgrade due to the
arrival of XP. These are minor things requiring major effort.
WHAT's NEW IN VERSION 6.4a COMPARED TO VERSION 6.3
==================================================
Major hosts like ZDNet/Download.com have decided without warning
to stop hosting shareware/freeware programs. Instead they now make
links to personal web pages. The result: One of my web sites was
removed because of abuse. Too much file transfer. Another website
became unusable every time the 30 minute time limit was exceeded.
As a result of the above, I was forced to start a new site. This
site will allow me unlimited file transfer as long as I pay. I
have now decided to stop offering Mortgage Wizard Plus freeware.
The problem with freeware is that too many people download the
program, because it is free. Well the internet has changed and
is no longer free.
So what is new in version 6.4a?
1. No more freeware. Don't feel too bad about this. Use the
registered edition and save many, many times the purchase price.
Just try and see for yourself how much you can reduce the
cumulative interest.
2. The file Menu now links to the new web site:
http://www.mw-plus.com
3. The Mortgage Calculator default screen used to be for
monthly payments and for calculating the payment. You can now
modify the default for Frequency of Payment and calculator mode.
4. Versions 6.2b ad v6.3 did not always correctly remember the
last country setting if the selected country was for Canadian
mortgages. This new since version 6.2 bug has been fixed.
5. Several small items.
WHAT's NEW IN VERSION 6.3/6.4a COMPARED TO VERSION 6.2
======================================================
Changes 5)to 11) are changes already included in intermediate
version 6.2b. In version 6.2b an undesireable bug window would
pop up if you try to resize the calculator window. This nuisance
message box will not appear with version 6.3.
P.S Only one user reported this bug. Thanks to this user, the bug
is now fixed in version 6.3. Your bug reports are important. No
matter how minor the bug is. Only known bugs can be fixed.
1). It is now possible to edit the amortization schedule by
simply double clicking on a cell in the amortization schedule.
Editing via the amortization schedule Edit menu is still possible.
2). You can now lock (and unlock) certain rows in the amortization
schedule. The locking and unlocking can also be password protected.
3). Help has been expanded, updated and improved.
4). A number of minor improvements are made. E.g. Links to MW Plus.
webpages are now included on the Help menu. Remembering preferred
Mortgage calculation method for weekly/monthly etc. mortgages.
5). With version 6.2, a message "Variable is not a valid entry"
would popup if a previously saved amortization schedule with
edited interest rate is opened.
6). The appearance of printouts is improved and more selectable.
i). It is now possible to change table width, font size
and include or exclude certain items. Your choices will be
remembered.
ii). The font is changed from Arial to Times New Roman.
iii). Thousands separators are now printed in accordance
with Regional settings in Windows Control Panel settings
i.e, comma in USA, space in French Canada and period for
most European countries.
iv). The default settings after opening Mortgage Wizard
Plus are:
Number of copies 1
Orientation Portrait
With version 6.2, you would make 3 copies if this is last
printer setup, even when made in another application such
as a word processor.
v). Version 6.2 would not print the mortgagee name if no
information was entered for the address of the mortgagee.
Now fixed in versions 6.2b/6.3.
7. Thousands separators are now also shown on Amortization Schedule
and Year End report windows.
8. When in the cream colored Mortgage Calculator Window, the Calc.
Mode is changed, anticipated entries will be shown in the various
text boxes.
9. Mortgage Calculator print as text printouts were incomplete with
version 6.2 if the selected missig variable was either Mortgage
Amount or Interest rate. This has been fixed in versions 6.2b/6.3.
10. With version 6.2b you can save your mortgage with Regional
settings on your computer set up for e.g English Canadian. You can
now read this same file on computers setup differently like French
Canadian, English USA or whatever. Date formats, 1000's separators
and 100's separators will now be shown in the format of the computer
used for opening the file. Files created with previous versions of
Mortgage Wizard Plus can be opened, edited and saved with Version
6.2b/6.3 no matter what Regional settings are used.
11. The Filename of saved mortgages is now shown in the Title bar.
